Readers, I’m from Uttarakhand, it is known for its greenery and mountainous surrounding. So this poem is the little appreciation of its beauty and its way of life. Actually, I lived in the city area but these mountains are seen from my house when I wander around my roof and they look absolutely adorable at night because of the lights ignited by the people living there…

That Glittering Peak

While Roaming around my roof at night,
I am entirely fascinated by your site…
Twinkle, twinkle winking its eyes,
Making this drippy heart energize…
Ensconced itself in the distant nature,
Unbothered from our dense torture…
Beautifully adorned with golden dress,
This city is just jealous of your loveliness…

Inspiring me in these cold spring  nights,
As you glow in the dark with hopeful lights…
Though your surrounding is lonely & calm,
But this peace is the cause of your charm…
And here, in spite of very close to one another,
We feel isolation even from our mother…
You gleam brightly among these polluted cities,
One day, they will come along with their families…

Since People are not aware of their culture,
This heart is faintly scared of your future…
That perhaps your lights may not get extinguish,
And your optimistic spirit may not get finish..
I grew up by watching your shining view,
But this soul is not lucky enough to have you..
I will definitely come to consume your purity,
To remain sane, I want to drown in you with insanity…
